Preliminary Project Charter
Project Name:
Our Project’s name is “Worldwide Sports Online Site (WSOS).” Our project idea is that the existing company, Worldwide Sports, is based a on physical store and a very basic system for online sales. Our company goal is to create an updated information system that is actually functional for Worldwide Sports and their stakeholders for an online section for sales. Our team

We will be communicating
using email and phone, as well as using Google to upload all of our
deliverables.
Meeting Times:
Our team will be meeting at least
once a week on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays between 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm. If any
additional time is needed, Sundays in the afternoon are an alternative meeting
time for the group.
Group Expectations:
Each group member will need to be on time to each designated
meeting time/place, as well as prepared to contribute to the project. Group
members will also be willing to give/take constructive criticism in a
professional manner in order to benefit the outcome of the project. We will
work together on all aspects of the project and communicate several times each
week in person, through email, through text, or through D2L. Finally, some
attributes that all of our group members are going to embrace include:

Early Project Description/thoughts:
Worldwide Sports is a company that sells a
variety of sporting goods and memorabilia from its one main physical location, and they have a very basic system for online sales that has many bugs and limited functionality. Recent sales
have been slightly below average, including a virtually useless online store, and the company is looking to take a step into
the electronic sales realm with a new system to boost sales and expand their region of business.
LEMM Solutions is going to be working closely with Worldwide Sports to make
that transition a success. The scope of the project states that they would like
to have a member login for their system. The users will be able to search the
different products, select products to purchase, add items to a ‘shopping
cart’, and print their order summary. Worldwide Sports also stated they
would like to be able to add or remove products that have varied availability
to consumers, as well as a vendors/suppliers/customer database. This system
schedule will take 12 months to complete. The budget for this system is
$300,000. Including the budgeted cost, the total projected 3 year cost for this
system is an expense of $864,000, which also includes 3 years of operating
costs. However, if this system can be completed within budget, on time, and
meet the user requirements, the benefits of the system add up to $2 million.
This gives a net benefit of $1,136,000, which is exactly what Worldwide Sports
is in need of.
